Flavian Magari, MD, MSc, is currently the country director for the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) Tanzania. Prior to joining I-TECH Tanzania, Dr. Magari was the technical advisor for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) activities for I-TECH Namibia, where he was responsible for assisting the Ministry of Health and Social Services to develop national PMTCT guidelines to provide standardized services. He has also worked in various capacities with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Tanzania and the United Nations Population Fund. Dr. Magari received his doctor of medicine and a diploma in public health from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and a master of science in human nutrition from the University of London, United Kingdom.
