Dorothy Namate, PhD, RNM, currently serves as the Global Fund coordinator for the Ministry of Health in the Directorate of Planning and Policy Development of Malawi. In this role, she provides technical assistance to support the coordination and implementation of all Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria grant activities and liaises with key stakeholders and all grant beneficiaries of the Ministry of Health. Dr. Namate previously worked in the private sector as the country director for Project Hope Malawi, where she coordinated the Community Health Partnerships project to improve district-level maternal and child health care services. She was also involved in reproductive health initiatives, such as capacity building for cervical cancer screening. Dr. Namate has served as the senior technical advisor in the Ministry of Health and as a principal of the Malawi College of Health Sciences. She also held a position with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where she contributed to the development of joint World Health Organization/International Labour Organization policy guidelines on improving health care worker access to prevention, treatment, and care services for HIV and tuberculosis.
