Kassahun Desalegn, MD, is currently the clinical director of Gondar University Hospital in Gondar, Ethiopia. He is also the department head and assistant professor of dermatovenereology at the University of Gondar, College of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Desalegn previously was the chief resident at Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Medicine. He is author and co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, and has received a certificate of recognition from Gondar University and the Developing Country Dermatologist Award from the Society of Pediatric Dermatology. Dr. Desalegn received his doctor of medicine from Gondar University, College of Medicine and Health Sciences. He has received a Certificate of Leprosy Essentials and Clinical Dermatology from the All African Leprosy Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, a Dermatovenereology Specialization Certificate from Addis Ababa University, and a Certificate of Cosmetic Dermatology and Tropical Dermatology from the Center for Research and Training in Skin Diseases and Leprosy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran.
