Mehari Dessalegn Tesfay, MD, is currently the medical director at Wukro Hospital, in Tigray, Ethiopia. Previously, Dr.Tesfay was a team leader with the Team Training Program in Jimma, Ethiopia. Dr. Tesfay has received trainings at the Global Health Leadership Institute at Jimma University, operated by Yale University (US), along with a range of trainings in infection control, prevention of mother-to-child-transmission of HIV, health management and information systems, and monitoring and evaluation. He completed an assessment of factors associated with loss to follow-up at Wukro Hospital among people living with HIV who have not yet begun antiretroviral treatment for HIV (pre-ART). Dr. Tesfay holds a doctor of medicine from Jimma University School of Medicine.
