Mengistu Eshetu, PhD, is currently the director general at Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organisation in Ethiopia. Dr. Mengistu has worked for over 27 years in the government, private,and civil sectors in the areas of construction and civil society. Prior to his current role, he worked as general manager with Welfare for the Street Mothers and Children Organisation. Dr. Mengistu is the board chair person for the Organisation for Prevention, Rehabilitation and Integration for Female Street Children and the Centre for International Private Enterprise. He is also on the board of the Union of Ethiopian Women’s Charitable Association and the North Addis Ababa Tigray Development Association. Dr. Mengistu has received trainings in non-profit management, financial management, agriculture and sustainable development, and public relations. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Addis Ababa University, his master’s degree in civil engineering at London City University, United Kingdom, and his doctorate in public administration and global leadership.
