The Leaders in Health Namibia Series brings together participants from multiple sectors, including the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services, Namibian Ministry of Defence, I-TECH Namibia, and the University of Namibia.
The goal is to further strengthen health care systems in Namibia through effective mentoring of health leaders, managers, and teachers from multiple sectors. The series consists of two face-to-face, three-day workshops separated by ten weeks of distance-based course sessions broadcast from the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle (those e-learning session are now available here). It is, thus, a blended-learning course using skills-based workshops combined with distance learning sessions and assignments. During the workshops, participants study and discuss the nuances of leadership and management and practice policy advocacy and communication skills through role-play, case studies, and other interactive activities.
